Superior Analytics
Scientists from the University of Nantes (France) have developed a novel technique for characterization of monolayer segregation based on the analytical capabilities of MERLIN®. Due to the double condensor lens of the GEMINI® II e-beam lens, up to 300 nanoampere of probe current are possible, while at the same time the beam diameter is kept to a minimum in diameter. This allows WDS analysis of specimen surfaces with a high spatial resolution, avoiding the drawbacks of up to now used methods like Auger Electron Spectroscopy or Electron Probe Micro Analysis.
