On May 22nd, 2008, Norway’s modernest planetarium was opened in the town of Sandnes, 15 km south of Stavanger. Part of a new education center named "Vitenfabrikken" (knowledge factory), the planetarium fascinates its patrons with a projection system that is a combination of SKYMASTER ZKP 4 and powerdomeŽ SPACEGATE Quinto. Carl Zeiss supplied not only the projection system but also the projection dome, the sound system, a number of shows and die 3D planetarium software Uniview. |
