Large planetarium domes have surface areas of up to 1000 m˛. Projectors intended to cover such areas not only have to put out sufficient brightness but also should supply sufficient image information. powerdomeŽ4DOME featuring Sony's SRX projectors presently offers the highest resolution on a planetarium dome.

Each projector generates up to eight million pixels. With two projectors arranged opposite each other, the resolution achieved leaves hardly anything to be desired. Solutions with more channels are possible to satisfy even more exacting demands.
Carl Zeiss has developed an objective designated DIGIGON 115, a wide-angle lens for SRX projectors specially designed for projections onto a spherical surface.
4DOME can be configured in two versions differing by brightness, which allows the system to excel also in the world's largest planetarium domes. Xenon light sources offer an extended color space, furnishing brilliant, highly saturated colors. Contrast is outstanding, too.
