Muenster is a regional cultural and economic center with a population of 280,000. When the modernized planetarium was reopened on August 25th, 1998, the audience visitors for the first time saw the stars of the UNIVERSARIUM Mark VIII, which replaced the ZEISS Mark V installed in 1981.
The planetarium entertains a partner relationship with the Zeiss Planetarium of Jena, which has been using the first Mark VIII since 1996. As the computerized control systems are identical, it is no problem to exchange shows or to jointly create programs.
