 Second powerdome®Workshop Went Down Very Well
The second powerdome@Workshop held at Carl Zeiss in Jena on November 23-25, 2008, met with active interest. Participants came from different European countries. In addition, representatives of the SCISS company from Stockholm presented the latest version of the Uniview program package.

FullDome Festival Prizewinners Earned Awards in Chicago
From among the finalists of DomeFest 2008, the jury selected the best works for the coveted "Domies".
Two of the works that won awards in Chicago had been originally produced for the April 2008 FullDome Festival in Jena.

Carl Zeiss introduced VELVET, the only DLP projector providing true black background
The participants of the 2008 meeting of the International Planetarium Society in Chicago were surprised to see another innovative product designed and built by Carl Zeiss: "VELVET", a novel type of video projector based on Texas Instruments micromirror chips and the world's first and only DLP® projector to present an absolutely black background.

Second FullDome Festival in the Jena Zeiss-Planetarium - Carl Zeiss sponsors FullDome Awards
After the successful start of the FullDome Festival in 2007, the second edition will take place for the public on April 26th. The day before an internal workshop with all participants of the Festival will be hosted by Carl Zeiss in the company's factory dome. Carl Zeiss for the first time sponsors three FullDome Awards.

Turkish City Gaziantep Orders Planetarium Equipment for New Science Park
The city of Gaziantep plans to erect a planetarium with technology from Carl Zeiss and a botanical garden displaying more than 4,000 plant species. Erection of the planetarium building will commence in 2008 and hopefully be completed by the end of the year. | |
